A recent study by the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, IHME, at the University of Washington in Seattle found that the women in Collier County Florida live the longest in the nation, with an average life expectancy of 86 years. This exceeds the life expectancy in France, Spain and Switzerland. Unfortunately the study also found life expectancy for women in most counties of the U.S. is falling.
This results for women in Collier County were consistent with the news this past spring that Collier County ranked the healthiest county in the state of Florida for the second year in a row, based upon an analysis by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
The article in today's Naples Daily News provides many views on why women's life expectancy in Collier County is the highest in the nation. My own thought is that the quality of life and complete relaxation provided in this area is second to none. Living here allows a person to maximize all these benefits.Labels: Collier County, Marco Island, Naples, Quality of Life
