If you are looking to buy a home or condo in the state of Florida, I have some great news for you. The weekend of April 10th and 11th is now Florida Open House Weekend. Realtors throughout the state will be showcasing their finest homes and condos for the public to visit.
Here are some tips to help you prepare for this big event:
1.) Focus your search- look for an ad in your local paper identifying which properties will be included the week of the event or ask your Realtor to join you.
2.) What are you looking to learn- have a list of questions ready to ask the Realtors you meet.
3.) Keep notes- bring a pen/pencil and paper with you to keep track of the different properties.
4.) Candid feedback- let the Realtor know what you thought of the property. If it's a good fit great, if not perhaps they may help point you in the right direction. The feedback will be appreciated by the seller too.
5.) Remember you are a guest- treat the home as you would like someone to treat your home. Ask the Realtor upfront if there is anything you need to be aware of such as removing your shoes or a pet in the home.
6.) Safety first- bring a friend or spouse along. Carry your cell phone. Let others know where you will be and for how long. Be aware of your surrounding's and sign in when you first arrive.
